Anti-Age Lifting-Makeup Tips

Anti-age makeup is able to work wonders and make you look brighter and 5-10 years younger. It will not take much of your time. However, to master this technique, you should know its peculiarities and rules. Womendialogue.com decided to figure out the secrets of a perfect lifting-makeup.

If you think that lifting-makeup is for 50+, you are wrong. If you are a little over 30, you can already start practicing it, because it is at this age that the first signs of skin fade start to show, and small and subtle wrinkles appear. With the help of anti-aging makeup, you can visually hide these changes and restore healthy skin glow.

1. Don’t forget about skin preparation

Do not neglect care at any age, but competent moisturizing and nourishing of aging skin is the foundation of a lifting-makeup. The more carefully you take care of the skin at this stage, the better the final result will be.

2. Choose moisturizing textures

Prefer moisturizing creams to durable matte textures. You can add special oil to the foundation to neutralize the natural dryness of mature skin. Choose a moisturizing concealer. The golden rule: the thinner the foundation layer, the better the makeup will look.

3. Apply makeup in a thin layer

With age, skin acquires additional relief, which is why try to use a minimal amount of makeup products to avoid it clogging into pores and wrinkles.

4. Use less shiny textures

It is recommended to avoid shiny textures in lifting-makeup, especially in areas with excessive relief. However, you can mix a little liquid highlighter to your tone and apply a little highlighter on the protruding parts of the face (cheekbones, for example) in areas with no relief.

5. No glitter

Avoid large shimmers, metallic glow, glitters – the finer the shiny particles, the better.

6. Pay particular attention to eyebrows

Remember that thin eyebrows look unnatural and even old-fashioned, they make the face puppet-like. Well-groomed, moderately wide eyebrows, which are not too bright, with a natural smooth bend are an ideal option that will make the face look well-groomed and younger. By the way, do not forget that eyebrows, like hair, get gray, so make sure to dye them in a timely manner.

7. Choose warm shades

Warm shades of blush, lipstick and eye shadows look more natural and fresh. Instead of choosing pink blush, go for pink-coral or pink-peach, even if you are into cold shades. Also, do not use pure colors: pink or orange; choose complex mixed combinations – they always look more interesting and fresh.

8. Curl your eyelashes

With age, eyelashes lose their former density and curve. If you can use a curler – it is great! If not, you can choose mascara with a curling effect, but not a volumetric one.

9. Carefully outline lip contour

Make sure to outline the contour with resistant pencils, gently blending them so that the lips do not look tight. Use a moisturizing lipstick – this is important because matte and firm textures dry the lips thus emphasizing imperfections and wrinkles. By the way, lipstick should match the pencil in tone: the dark shade combined with a light lipstick is a remnant of the 90s, forget about it once and for all.

10. Be careful when placing light accents

You can slightly highlight the corners of the lips with a slight glow – it will give freshness. However, do not apply light highlights under the eyebrows! This is not relevant any more. It does not make you look young and suits very few people.

11. Apply a moisturizing mask before makeup

Mature facial skin is often dry and thin, so before applying makeup, apply a moisturizing mask, a nourishing cream and optionally a base with reflective particles. This will give the face a fresh and relaxed look.

12. Use a lifting serum

Serum with antioxidants, collagen and coenzymes will make the skin more elastic and supple. Be sure to use it before applying makeup.

13. Handle problem areas with greater care

Do not overload your skin with extra cosmetics. Problem areas can be dealt with locally. Better, use creamy textures. Women with oily skin can apply mineral powder to areas with excess shine.

14. Pay attention to areas between the lashes

The emphasis placed on the areas between the lashes make your look more expressive and bright. Optionally, false eyelashes can be applied to make the eyelashes thicker. Just do not stick them right into the outer corner of the eye – just a little further, it will make your eyes visually larger.

15. Select the right foundation shade

An improperly selected tone can well add ten or even twenty years. Therefore, take this seriously. Also remember that dark shades significantly add to age, emphasizing wrinkles and uneven areas. The powder should match the tone or be transparent.

16. Do not emphasize the lower eyelid

Focus on the upper one – draw an eye line or apply eye shadows. This will make the look less heavy and visually elevate the eyelid.
