The “60-second rule” is actively discussed on the Internet, as it helps to cleanse the skin more effectively.
What is the “60-second rule”
Millennials did not invent the 60-second rule. They rather remembered what dermatologists had told us before. It is assumed that after applying foam, gel or mousse, we should not wash it all off our face at the speed of light. It is important to wait a minute and only then start removing the product from the skin.
Why?
Dirt, the oil secreted by sebaceous glands, and cosmetics (especially waterproof makeup products) are difficult ingredients to remove. It takes some time before the substances in the cleanser or exfoliator begin to act and solve the problem.
Even a cool stain remover does not work in a second. As a rule, the manufacturer asks to wait at least 10-15 minutes and only then wash the product – any chemical reaction takes time.
So let your face get it! By the way, with the eye makeup remover, everything works the same way: apply the product on a cotton pad, gently press it against the eyelid for at least 30 seconds, and only then, gently blotting, remove the makeup from the eyes.
The “60-second rule” has two execution techniques: first, massage and apply the gel of your choice on the entire face and wait for a minute or conditionally divide the face into four parts, apply the product to all quarters and massage each zone in turn for 15 seconds.
Dermatologists say: this method will reduce the number of acne, make the skin color even and more radiant, and allow subsequent serum and cream to be absorbed better. Plus, when you give your wash gel or foam a chance to react with the makeup on your face, it allows you to better remove all the makeup. If, you wake up with dark circles under the eyes left by mascara even after thorough cleansing (remember there is nothing good in this, the remnants of cosmetics dry and irritate the skin), it is probably time for you to master this technique.
How to cleanse your face properly
In the process of applying, try to massage the face, and the product will be absorbed better. In addition to the 60-second rule, remember that it is important to thoroughly gel not only all areas of the face (most often, we forget about nasal wings), but also the neck. Naturally, adding one cleansing minute to your schedule won’t solve all the problems. For example, if you have rosacea or suffer from acne, of course, the procedure will not save you, you need to contact a dermatologist and take a comprehensive approach to solving the problem.
