Makeup Products to Avoid during the Summer

The sultry days are in full swing, and this means that it is time to analyze the condition of your makeup bag as thoroughly as possible. The main task is to get rid of or put aside those products that are not suitable for use on hot days.

Oily and full coverage foundations, silicone bases and many other products can “float away” from the face in 35-degree heat, making your makeup sloppy and ridiculous. Today we figure out which tools are best not to use in the heat, and which ones should be preferred (and why).

Silicone based products

First of all, you should forget about silicone bases: the skin will not breathe and will quickly clog up because of them, and the makeup from such a base will “float”.

In hot weather, light primers with a matte effect and high SPF should be used. Such a base restrains the appearance of oily shine throughout the day and protects against the appearance of pigmentation spots.

Full coverage tonal foundations

In the summer, it is better to forget about full coverage tonal foundations. They will not only clog fine wrinkles and pores, thereby enlarging and emphasizing them, but also flow down the face. Instead, look for light BB moisturizers with a matte effect. They do not clog the pores, allowing the skin to breathe, and effectively protect the skin from the sun’s rays.

Regular mascara

In summer, we also forget about simple mascara, which in the heat always leaves stains on the eyelids and often flows. Pay attention to waterproof products that will not spoil your beauty look with a “panda look”.

Short-lasting eye pencils

In summer, it is better to put short-lasting eye pencils on the far shelf, which will also flow, smudge and leave stains. In summer, try to use only waterproof pencils and preferably in the evening when the air temperature is colder.

Dry blush

Also, in the heat, it is better not to use dry blush, but if you want to give your face freshness and release the inner glow of the skin, resort to using liquid blush. They have a more long-lasting texture, blend more easily with BB cream and remain in their proper condition.

Powder

In order not to create the effect of a mask on the face, it is also better to refuse powder, especially during the day. Use matte face wipes, which will help remove oily shine and will not ruin your makeup. But if you are used to always using powder, you should give preference to its transparent version.

In general, in summer, makeup artists recommend paying more attention to liquid textures and, if possible, include in your beauty arsenal lip gloss (instead of matte lipstick), waterproof bright mascara (instead of classic black), waterproof eye pencil or bright eyeliner (instead of a classic pencil), liquid eyeshadows (instead of dry ones). These products will blend with the surface of the skin for the lightest coverage possible.
