To keep the skin of the face young and healthy as long as possible, it is necessary to make it a rule to thoroughly cleanse it before going to bed. What problems does breaking this simple rule lead to? What happens if you go to sleep wearing makeup?
Imagine: in the morning you put on a make-up foundation (let’s say, this is your favorite cream) and then a concealer to mask the bruises under the eyes and the only pimple that accidentally popped up on the chin. You “cover” all this with foundation and powder, apply a little blush and highlighter.
You keep in mind kayal for eyes and lips, mascara, and, of course, eyebrow soap. All this together makes you a femme fatale dressed up accordingly. You spend the whole day in this “holiday-style” outfit. During this time, dust and bacteria manage to settle on the face, and keratinized skin particles appear under the layer of cosmetics.
Beauty ceases to be your friend when, instead of thoroughly rinsing and cleansing your face before going to bed, you decide not to part with the makeup at night. As soon as you start allowing yourself such frivolous actions, the skin immediately reacts with a tired, haggard look … and with other things.
Acne
First of all, rashes appear on the skin. The reason for this phenomenon is simple: a layer of cosmetics and settled dust clogs the pores. In turn, they become inflamed and you end up with acne.
It can be different – in the form of red spots, black dots or milia (whiteheads). Everything is clear with the former, but milia are small cavities under the upper layer of the skin, filled with layers of keratin and sebum. They can become a huge problem.
A month ago, you masked just one occasional pimple, but now you have to apply makeup all over your cheeks and forehead. The result is a vicious circle: you cannot walk without makeup because you are generously gifted with acne, and at the same time, you cannot cure acne because you have to constantly mask them with makeup.
Life hack: for proper skin cleansing, you need to wash your face with a foamy product (gel, foam, wash cream) in the morning and in the evening. This is necessary to remove dead skin cells. Foam removes dirt better.
Oily skin
Among other things, the skin can change its type. This happens if you regularly use a foundation that is too greasy or too dry and does not remove it at the end of the day. The fact is that even if the skin is covered with oily cream, pores continue to produce sebum, the accumulation of which leads to a characteristic oily sheen and a feeling of a film on the face.
When you use too dry textures, grease is released even more intensely, because in this case, the skin needs to replenish the lack of moisture. Leaving these processes covered with cosmetics, you risk getting oily skin instead of normal skin after a couple of months.
Life hack: if your skin has an oily sheen (for example, due to the heat outside), do not powder it too often, but rather blot it with rice napkins. They perfectly absorb excess fat.
Irritation
You’ve probably noticed that when you wake up with painted eyes, there is discomfort when you blink. It makes itself obvious through the inflammation of the mucous membrane of the eye, which gets irritated by small particles of shadows or crumbling mascara. This problem is aggravated by dark circles under the eyes and slight puffiness.
Life hack: To relieve the symptoms, wash off your makeup, lie on your back, close your eyes and place chilled filter bags with brewed chamomile on your eyelids. The symptoms will subside in 10-15 minutes.
Premature aging
Yet another unpleasant moment is the rapid aging of the skin. That is why mothers do not allow their daughters to apply makeup from an early age, because cosmetic products also contain components that cannot be called useful for sure – for example, silicones.
On the one hand, they do not harm the skin much, but if you wear them on the face for days, the skin simply will not be able to breathe normally. Yes, the skin is the largest human organ in terms of area, which begins to age abruptly if it cannot breathe freely.
Life hack: to maintain the skin tone, rub your face daily with ice cubes made from herbal decoctions or apply a pre-cooled cloth mask.
All of the above may remind you of a scary tale about a girl who never washed her face before going to bed and started to look like a grandmother five years later. But, unfortunately, these are real processes that can easily affect the health and beauty of the skin in the absence of proper daily exfoliation.
