We recall the situations where it is appropriate to apply more drops of the precious perfume, and when it is better to restrain ourselves. Below are some tips on fragrance etiquette – how much, when and why – all you need to know about the unwritten rules of wearing a perfume.
Use perfume only on a clean body
No need to repeat the mistake of some people who like to mix their own body odors with the latest inventions in the perfume industry. Of course, there are those who completely abandoned all deodorants and perfumes, but this is a different story, as they say.
If you are not a fan of the maximum “fusion” with nature, then it is better to wash yourself in the morning, before applying the perfume. Start the day with a clean body and new smells.
Decide on perfume or deodorant
Of course, the choice should not be so dramatic. Just make sure that the remedy for sweat does not cause a fierce struggle with your nose. The easiest way is to choose a deodorant with a neutral smell, so the perfume will be fully revealed.
Pick up a perfume for your clothes
No one dreams about compiling a table and making you pick up the perfume strictly for the clothes and their color. The only point is that the clothes that you already wore, but did not have time to wash, “remember” the fragrance, therefore, in order not to create a fragrant cacophony again, it is better to use the same perfume with the “old” outfit.
Stick to the “stretched hand” rule
Following this perfume rule, your fragrance should not reach any further from you than the distance of your stretched hand, otherwise your fleur will be heard hundreds of kilometers around. We agree, it’s difficult to predict such a thing. Therefore, if you are not sure of your spirits, ask the beloved one to evaluate the strength of the fragrant plume.
Do not overdo it with quantity
Do not be afraid: spraying it 2-3 times is enough to feel the aroma, without bothering the surrounding people at the same time. You should apply the wonderful elixir on the bends of the arms and legs (if it happens in the summer), behind the ears, and behind the neck.
If you bought or just “tried on” a new fragrance, start with one spray – maybe you can get used to it.
The main rule is: less is better.
Do not use perfume everywhere
There are places where it is better to avoid the “use” of perfume. They include hospitals (there is a high risk of causing harm to an allergic person), a long-distance train and an airplane (in a confined space, citizens can have headaches and nausea or at least dissatisfaction because of strong smells).
Yet, for a date or meeting with a friend, you can “alter your own self” with a perfume.
