Hair Care Tips for a Hot Summer

Without a doubt, it is important to care for your hair properly at any time of the year. Let’s figure out what your head “lacks” during the hot season.

Moisturize your hair

Sometimes in the summer, you get the impression that your hair becomes dirty faster, so do not be afraid to wash it every day if you find it necessary. It is best to use a moisturizing shampoo, as it perfectly hydrates and nourishes the scalp, which may begin to peel off due to the abundance of sunlight. As for the hair tips, which are split even more severely during the hot season, save them with the help of nourishing hair masks and balms.

Do not wash your hair before going to the pool or the beach

If you have to swim, no matter where (in the ocean, in the lake or in the pool), do not wash your head right before that — your hair will lose natural protective oils. This protection can be further enhanced by applying a moisturizing hair conditioner before swimming. The advice is especially relevant for girls with dyed hair, so you can prevent the color pigment from disappearing too quickly.

After bathing, it is quite possible to wash your hair (when needed) with a special after-chlorine shampoo or a shampoo with mint, aloe or jojoba oil. Another way to thoroughly cleanse the scalp from chlorine or saltwater is a shampoo with a peeling effect. It is advisable to use it no more than 1-2 times a week, not to overdo and not to dry the hair even more.

Use sun protection

Beauty brands invented a long line of sunscreens that save hair and scalp from burnout and dryness. If you do not want to change the shampoo, use at least a spray with the SPF factor — the strands will not tangle and look like straw. In addition to this, of course, do not forget about the headwear.

Do not blow-dry your hair

Warm-season is ideal for drying hair without additional gadgets. However, in this case, it is also desirable to know several rules: do not go outside straight from the shower, thoroughly dry your curls with a towel (the same thing is best done after coming out of the sea foam or the pool) and do not expose your hair to the sun: in this case, you will literally burn it. It is recommended to dry the hair indoors or to go out to fresh air during safe hours (not from 11 am to 4 pm). If you cannot do without a hairdryer in spite of everything, be sure to use heat-protective products.
