My Hair Gets Greasy Too Soon: What to Do?

Shiny and voluminous curls are the key to the perfect look. If your hair looks unkempt, devoid of life, the image will inevitably be ruined no matter how perfect your outfit is. If your hair gets greasy too fast, the first step is to determine the cause of this failure.

The most common problem is washing your hair too often. The hair gets used to this regime, and the skin begins to secrete more sebum as a protective reaction.

Another common cause is improper care. The chances are that shampoo isn’t good for your scalp, or the conditioner gets too greasy on your hair, making it look clumpy and dirty.

You may not be rinsing your hair enough with water or rinsing out the shampoo or conditioner thoroughly.

Hereditary factor

Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract or hormonal disruptions in the body. In this situation, it is worth consulting a doctor and taking the necessary tests.

What to do to keep your hair clean for a long time

Determine your scalp type. If you have greasy skin, the scalp type is likely to be the same. In this case, daily shampooing is not harmful, but it is important to choose gentle care.

Try and drop the habit of daily shampooing. It is recommended to wash your hair every two days. At first, there will be a feeling of discomfort, so it’s better to start this process at the weekend when you don’t need to go anywhere.

Use dry shampoo – it will not only eliminate greasiness but also add volume to your hair. If there is no dry shampoo, baby powder will help you: apply the product to the hair roots and then remove the excess with a comb. To make the powder invisible on dark hair, mix it with cocoa.

Wash your hair with room temperature water and rinse with cool water to smooth the scales and make your hair smoother. Drink at least 2 liters of water per day – a proper drinking regime will reduce sebum secretion.

Moreover, scrubbing your scalp will cleanse the pores of impurities. You can make a scrub at home: add a small amount of water to the sea salt, apply it to the hair roots, and massage gently. The massage improves blood circulation and stimulates hair growth.

Apply conditioner and mask only to the ends. These products weigh down the hair, so distribute them along the length without touching the roots and rinse thoroughly with water to remove any residue. Choose a shampoo and conditioner with natural ingredients, without sulfates and parabens.
